Used machinery dealer Arlington Plastics Machinery is celebrating 25 years in business in 2013. What was once a small sales office has grown into a large warehouse full of used equipment. Arlington now offers all types of used plastics processing equipment, machinery repairs, new equipment, appraisal services, and auction & liquidation services.
Milestones -Founded in the late in 1988 by Jack Clarke, 2013 serves as Arlington Plastics Machinery’s 25 full year in business. That’s over 25 years of buying, selling and repairing machinery.“Arlington’s longevity comes from providing quality used machinery with the support of an extensive machine shop, “said Jack Clarke, Arlington’s president. “The industry is always changing in plastics, but good equipment at a fair price is in demand in any market. The ability to test run machinery or customize it gives our customers a level of service other dealers have a hard time matching.”
Arlington’s repair shop specializes in reconditioning extruders and extrusion downstream equipment. Their machine shop has completed hundreds of complete extruder overhauls projects, gearbox rebuilds and control panel upgrades.
Maturity Matched with Innovation - While Arlington was one of the first machinery dealers to keep an integrated list of inventory on its site, Arlington just recently introduced its latest website upgrade. They’ve been through several website versions over the years to continually give customers more options in their search for used equipment. The new site has enhanced search capabilities, higher resolution photos and extra content for Spanish speaking visitors. Unity through Diversity - To better serve their customers, Arlington expanded its offerings to include representing new manufacturers of complementary equipment. These partnerships provide turn-key extrusion lines using used and new equipment where it makes the most sense. Arlington represents the MGB line of screen changers, densifiers (agglomerators), classifiers and guillotines; the Republic Machine line of shedders; the Tec Polymer line of vacuum sizing, calibration and water tanks; and the Sterling line of material handling equipment. “By blending used extruders with new calibration systems, customers that require specific cooling can still see the cost benefit of a used line.” said Chris Wunderle, Sales Executive. What’s it Worth? - Several years ago Arlington realized their customers needed accurate appraisals for financing, insurance and asset allocation. “Our customers are looking for someone to appraise their equipment that has intimate knowledge of the processes and equipment they are running,” said David Pietig, onsite AMEA accredited appraiser. “Many of our customers realize that the best way to get an accurate appraisal for plastics machinery is to get an appraisal report from someone who buys and sells their type of equipment every day.” Complete Liquidation Package - Arlington has expanded its services to include a whole host of liquidation services. Running online auctions and liquidations to bringing machinery into their facility for consignment, Arlington has the knowledge, customer base and facilities to maximize return on investment for processors. Large plants full of machinery can be liquidated as easily as individual pieces with Arlington’s expertise.Arlington continues to grow and expand its operations and services to fit its customers’ needs for at least another 25 years.
