Founded in 1987 and located in Hamden, CT, Merritt Extruder Corporation was a manufacturer of single-screw extruders for the plastics industry. In August 2005, Davis-Standard acquired Merritt Extruder Corporation and moved the company’s headquarters to Pawcatuck, CT.
Despite ending its independent operation in 2005, Merritt plastic extrusion recycling technology can still be found on the secondary market—including here at Arlington Machinery. Under Davis-Standard, new Merritt equipment continues to be sold with reference to the original company name. Popular models include the Merritt-Davis Ram Stuffer, known for its exceptionally high recycling output, and the Merritt-Davis Melt Fed Extruder, ideal for operation in continuous compounding lines.
