Global manufacturers are making a press for standardization among plastics equipment and its connectivity. It will be a challenge and take some time to implement, but the end will hopefully be one that allows all machines to work together and have a "plug and play" option to connect to software and networks within a plant.
Several machines have this technology, but making it standard will help all involved. Maybe soon everyone will be running their plants from their phones.
As far as used equipment, once a standard is set, machines with the right technology will hold their value while the machinery without it will have a very small market.
